Winnie explored Jamestown by foot. Bear came too.

Our outing concluded under the majestic branches of a southern live oak, the genus that predates the Europeans who settled here.

Now, that’s my Winnie Girl.
A walk about the fisherman’s pier was just what she needed. Winnie watched the moored boats sway with the tide, compared the smooth texture of the hoses with the rough concrete, and gleefully broke into stride across the parking lot.

The general consensus is that she didn’t quite kick it. We thought meds were unnecessary after 10 months, but our pediatricians confirm that her reemergence of symptoms ought to be treated. At least we know this game. And, her physical exam was spot on. Here’s to bringing back our impossibly cheerful little love.
It appears she won’t be hitting the slopes any time soon.
