Play

Every evening, we walk to the sand. Our routine is the same. I raise the stroller shade, and Winnie announces “play!” Harry eats, and she runs; arms back, head down, grinning ear to ear. No matter the circumstance, this simple trip brings us daily respite. Then she rubs sand in her brother’s hair for the third time, and we walk home.3x9a09653x9a09503x9a09473x9a09513x9a09633x9a09673x9a09603x9a09903x9a09883x9a09693x9a09863x9a09823x9a09983x9a10393x9a10183x9a1011

I dropped her off at a playground beneath Live Oaks while Harry and I ran along the Boardwalk. Her teacher said that she clung to puzzle pieces as lovies, but that, all in all, Winnie Girl had a successful first day of toddler school.
