Footwear

Day one of nature camp: I couldn’t for the life of me find her Asics. After 30 minutes of turning the house upside down, I told Winnie, “I can’t find your running shoes. I’ve looked and looked.” She responded, “Mommy, come here. Give me a hug.”

She happily frolicked next to the other tennis shoe clad children in those wool, Grandpa slippers of hers. Sometimes, I think God uses her little toddler wisdom to offer a bit of perspective to this type A momma.

Elephants

I told Winnie that we were going to the zoo to see elephants. We oohed and ahhed over the 4 day old baby giraffe, but where the elephants last roamed; the zookeepers are now busy readying for rhinos. This sculpture was as close as we came. It must have been enough. Later today, Winnie recounted that we went to the zoo to see animals. According to her, we saw elephants. 3X9A0083-23X9A0054-23X9A0007-43X9A0037-23X9A0011-23X9A0051-23X9A00363X9A00783X9A0073-33X9A0046

Looking Forward and Back

Continuing the nostalgic thread of the last post, and very much looking forward to next month, I figured I’d add a few images Amelia took of our little family of four on our last day at the Farm this Christmas. FamilyIMG_0183IMG_0296IMG_0356IMG_0400IMG_0117IMG_0124IMG_0148IMG_0133IMG_0140IMG_0144IMG_0081daddy reading

Lost and Found

When Harry was 4 months old, I took the babies to a cross country 5k. This was Winnie’s introduction to racing, and she was beyond thrilled. She literally roared with might as she tore through the grass. I snapped as many photos as I could (after my own race of course), but when I arrived home, I realized my SD card was corrupted and I lost all images. This Easter, I ate dinner with a photographer who happened to have documented last fall’s race. Today, I was given access to a few images we were included in. Winnie’s mouth is closed in these snapshots, but I am oh so grateful for a few images of that sweet October morning. The last photo is a poor resolution, iPhone glimpse of what I lost from my DSLR camera.running winnieIMG_6880IMG_5867Harry at FrogmenIMG_7757
